Bhola Island — the world's largest delta island, and its most underexploited agri-zone.

Located in the southern reaches of Bangladesh where the Meghna meets the Bay of Bengal, Bhola offers what most coastal farms cannot: tidal salinity gradients perfect for vannamei, alluvial soils ideal for organic crops, and natural biosecurity from being an island.

We hold land at two strategic sites — operational acreage on Bhola Island for production, and 3.74 acres of liability-free elevated land in Ashulia, Savar (near Jahangirnagar University and the Dhaka–Aricha highway junction) for processing and corporate operations.

It is my privilege to welcome you to Meghara Agro Estate. From the beginning, our vision has been to promote sustainable farming through innovation, research, and responsible business operations.

I spent the first decade of my career building technology businesses in rural Bangladesh — Net Genius IT Centre, News Today, Newhaven. In 2020, I recognized that the most consequential opportunity wasn't in digital alone — it was at the intersection of technology and agriculture. Bhola Island gave us the canvas. The team made it real.

What stage is the business in today?
Meghara Agro is an operating business — not a startup on paper. We currently generate BDT 1.76 Crore in monthly revenue with 148 team members across IT and agribusiness functions. Phase 1 includes 21+ active ponds, 1,500+ livestock head, and certified-process organic crops. The BDT 100 Cr capital raise funds the scale-up to a full 500-acre integrated operation.
What investment structures are available?
We're flexible across equity, convertible notes, and revenue-sharing royalty structures depending on investor profile. Minimum institutional ticket is BDT 10 Crore; HNI ticket starts at BDT 2 Crore. Commitments above BDT 50 Crore receive an investor Board seat. Funds release is milestone-linked across five tranches with independent verification.
What's the projected return profile?
Base-case 25%+ IRR over 5 years, with a 12% preferred dividend before common profit distribution. Year 5 projected revenue is BDT 1,200 Crore with BDT 390 Crore EBITDA; cumulative 5-year net profit is BDT 632 Crore. Payback period on total investment is ~4.5 years base case. How are export markets being developed?
We're building three export tracks in parallel: premium frozen shrimp into EU, Japan, and Korea; organic ginger and aromatic rice into the Middle East and UK diaspora markets; and live freshwater prawn into the Gulf. All require HACCP and traceability infrastructure that's funded as part of the capital raise. Initial buyer conversations are already underway through industry partners.
What protects the business against cyclones and disease?
Pond embankments are built 1.5m above flood line. We maintain PCR disease testing on-site, 3-tier biosecurity protocols, quarantine ponds, and crop insurance. Diversified revenue across six verticals means a single shock — disease, weather, price — cannot cripple the operation. Bhola Island is in a cyclone zone, but our embankment design and early-warning systems are built for it.
Can I do a site visit?
Yes. Farm visits can be arranged with 7 days' notice. Bhola Island is accessible by ferry from Chittagong or by speedboat from Bhola Sadar (~35 km). For institutional investors and major buyers, we can arrange helicopter access. We host quarterly investor open days during major harvest cycles.
What due diligence materials are available?
On signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement, qualified investors and major buyers receive: audited financial statements, land title documents, Department of Fisheries and Department of Livestock Services licenses, water and soil analysis reports, ESG audit summary, and the full 100+ page business plan with detailed financials. Legal advisor and auditor are disclosed at this stage.
